I have a 5/8" wide 1/16" thick band that is tied to a pouch. I have the dreaded pouch curl at both sides where the bands attach thru the holes. What actually causes this? Is it tied too close to the leather or should there be some clearance from the leather to where the knot should be tied? Or is this band just too thick and wide at the pouch holes to comfortably fit right? I cant get a proper consistant grab on the pouch the way it is.

Have someone stretch the band out as you tie it. Then after it is tied pull both sides (long and short) to pre-stress it. I think that then your pouch won’t curl when shooting. Bill Herriman

Hi CVA,
Does the pouch curl between the hole and the outer edge of the leather? A wide section that is cramped with tight bands have curled on my attempts. I now tie them less tight, with very little pre-stretch, and I get no curl. I'm still a newbee to this stuff so maybe I'm doing it all wrong anyway...lol :)

After the tied knot you grab the little band end and long band end and grab the pouch with the other hand and stretch it out? Does that move the tied knot closer to the pouch?Im very confused! Should the knot leave some clearance from the pouch edge or should it be tied tight up against the leather edge?
