Is it a good or bad idea to store bands in the refrigerator?

i don't think we have to go to such extreme to store rubber in the refrigerator.:D

i only stock one set of spare at a time. once the spare set is used, i'll buy another one to spare. i prefer the 'fresh from the shop' feel for the rubber.

i would say bad idea.bands do worst in cold.and tubes are even more worst in cold.if you stored them in the fridge im sure befor long they would probably start cracking and deteriorating.i wouldnt recommend that you just keep your bands out from sunlight.maybe in a cool dark place.

Latex keeps fresh longer in a dark cold place. It is best not to freeze it though. Light and heat deteriorates it, as it has a live protein. Bill Herriman

Like Bill said, cool and dark. I wrap mine in black garbage bags and put them in the bottom of a non insulated closet. It's almost a refrigerator in there! Flatband:)

Has anyone used the 303 Aerospace Protectant on their bands, It sounds good but does it really help?

I used it on the last set of tapered bands that I put on. They seem to have lasted longer than usual. Still going strong after about 400 shots or so. The untreated bands seem to come apart right about then.

Oh yeah guys, the 303 is very good on any type bands. You just need a little bit where the tubes go into each other and on flats, right where the wing(end) comes over the rest of the band. A VERY LITTLE! Otherwise you won't be able to hold on to the pouch!!:D Flatband
