Is everyone getting sick of me on this board yet???:D I am just really having a lot of fun shooting again after all these years. I am going to try to get some other people around here (suburb of Minneapolis, MN) to get a shooting group together.

One more question from all you experts. I am trying to find just the right target to shoot at. Is there any kind of standard out there? What would be considered the standard bullseye size. What is the actual 10-ring on an appropriate target.

I see people have mentioned a 10cm bullseye, is that the actual 10-ring? What are people using in tournaments? Is there a NRA styl etarget that people are using?

Thanks.

Hi Havoc, there are so many different targets out there with all different bullseye sizes. I like to use a 1 3/4" bull at 33 feet (ten meters). That's pretty close to what we used at the tournament this summer. I don't use centimeters or meters because they screw me up! That's a good size to shoot at. Flatband:)

So when you mention a 3" bullseye, are you saying that the 10 point ring will be 3"? Or do you not score them like that (10, 9, 8, etc.) What type of target do you use? Is it a preprinted target of some kind, like an NRA shooting target?

I am trying to buy a target to practice with that is similar to what is used out there in the world in tournaments and the like?

The 11yd targets for the eastcoast tournament are the standard, which is a 50 Ft rapid fire pistol target, it has a3" black bull, the expert target is the same target with a 2" orange dot in the middle of the black bull, the 20yrd target is a 25yrd slow fire pistol target with a 5 and 1/4" bull, the 25yrd target is a 100yrd small bore rifle with a 8" bull.A hit in the black is 2 points any hit in the white out to the outer circle is 1 point, all targets are scored the same except the expert target, hits in the orange bull count for 2 points any hits out of the orange out to the outer circle count as 1 point. The targets at the nationals at 11yrds are bigger. The original has a 10cm bull about 3 and15/16" the outer ring is about 12".The masters target has a 6cm about 2 and3/8" same outside dimension.I bought the targets for the east coast tournament at Gander Mountain.
