A friend of mine brought this slingshot back froom Camaroon in Africa, he got it in a street market, the frame is wood wound with thin strips of rubber, the bands are 8mm+4mm+20cm with a crude leather pouch tied on with thin strips of rubber it is quite powerfull but the leather pouch is starting to tear at the bindings. has anyone seen one like it. Jai.

When I was young I had a old black man teach me how to make a slingshot and that was the way he taught me, except he used a natural fork. Bill

Hi Bill, I read somewhere this was an african way of making a slingshot, maybe your old black man had the method handed down from earlier generations from the old country Regards Jai.

That is the Famous "African Wrap". A very secure method for tying bands onto a slingshot. Flatband:)

Hi Flatband, yes the wrapings are very tight,I am thinking of replaceing the leather pouch.but I havent decided yet, I might just keep it in its origonal form and hang it on the wall as a conversation peice, what do you think.:) Best regards Jai.
