My remodeled Crosman Vortex arrived yesterday - fitted with flat latex courtesy of Gary 'flatband' Miller - I was amazed in the difference in pull compared to Barnett heavy tubes which iis what I was used to - the flats feel far smoother to draw with a let less 'wobble' when aiming and because of this my aim was spot on ( for a novice )
I cant praise Gary's band and pouch sets enough - very professional job and the pouches are 1st class for holding 3/8" ammo .
as for the vortex - well as its a fairly low cost slingshot the quality of the frame and the pistol grip is first rate - very thick nickel plated steel that gives me 100% confidence in its durability - even without the flats I can believe reports that the vortex is one of the fastest out of the box commercial slingshots on the market :)
