Hi folks
just a quick question has any one ever heard of or made a slingshot out of a wood called andaman padouk it`s a tropical hardwood
im thinking of buying a peice to try but i have never heard of it before
can any body help

Hi Wil,
It's a pretty hard wood ,doing like a 1750 on the Janka hardness scale. I think it's from Africa. I never worked it, but that's a good middle number for hardness. Example,IPE is around 3700-Oak is around 1300 and the hardest of all is Lignum Vitae at over 4500! It sinks in water! Crazy! Flatband:)

i don`t want anything too hard as it might be brittle but this stuff sounds ok
